Reflexology Massage

Reflexology is a type of massage that applies gentle pressure to the hands, feet, and ears, based on the theory that these body parts are connected to specific organs and body systems.

The Reflexology Association of Canada tells us, "Reflexology therapies are natural therapeutic methods derived from this study based on the principle that there are reflexes in the body that

map to other parts, glands, and organs of the body. Through the application of pressure on

these reflexes, reflexology therapy can: relieve tension, improve circulation and support the body's efforts to function optimally. Additionally, it can help to "manage common ailments such as musculoskeletal pain, insomnia, anxiety, stress and hormonal and digestive issues."

We have made every effort to ensure your reflexology appointment is as calm and relaxing as possible. To that end, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Reflexology massage is not a substitute for medical care, but is a complement to most types of therapy. A reflexologist does not diagnose, prescribe or treat for specific conditions.

  • Reflexology can elicit some discomfort, but it should never be painful. Communicating with the Reflexologist about pressure and your comfort is very important.

  • It's essential for your Reflexologist to be aware of medical conditions, injuries, pregnancy or allergies, since massage techniques and approaches differ from one issue to another.

  • It's always a good idea to have an idea about why you'd like a reflexology massage - even if for relaxation - that way the Reflexologist can approach your session with a process that works best for you.

  • As a bonus, many of our clients like to have their feet taken care of by our nurses and then move rooms to have a reflexology massage right after. It's a fantastic way to optimize your wellness journey!
